Here we are! It’s the week of the big event. Here at Bicycle Sport, we’re packing up tools and tents, light kits, and other bits we’ll need to make sure you have the safest and most fun 24 Hours of Booty. As we go through our list of must-haves and must-do’s, we thought you’d want to see some of our best bike tips before you roll out this weekend.
Whether you’ll be riding all night and into the day, crushing major miles, or just taking a few spins around the Booty Loop and enjoying the view, you’ll want to see and be seen. The right lights can make all the difference – even during the daytime hours!
There’s no shortage of food, drinks, and snacks during 24 Hours of Booty. But chances are your routine rides aren’t catered at quite the same level. (If they are, invite us next time!) One of the secrets to enjoying more time in the saddle is staying fed and watered. And there are lots of options, no matter what your taste.
No matter how long or far you ride, how little or how often, the one place you can’t — or shouldn’t skimp — is your helmet. The right fit makes all the difference in not just how comfortable you’ll be, but also how much protection you’ll get should you ever take a tumble. And yes, you can get fit, comfort, and safety in a variety of price ranges.
You don’t have to pack a sandwich and the kitchen sink to be prepared for most on-the-bike emergencies. You might be surprised by what all you can carry along in even a small, under-the-seat style bag. And like most any trip, having a packing list makes all the difference. Here’ what we won’t leave the shop without.
Stop by and see us under the Bicycle Sport tent if your bike needs a little love while you’re out on the Loop, or just pop on over to check in. We look forward to seeing you!
